Notification

Content:

In the Notification Content Configuration page, you can construct the notification contents for your reminders by checking the content items listed in the frame. Once you have added an item, the example notification contents will be displayed in the next field. There is also an Audition button. You can click this button to audition the notification.

Tone:

In the Tone Configuration page, you can choose one of the following three tones for your speech notification: Secretary Tone, Servant Tone, and Robot Tone. For each tone you selected, the example notification sentence will be displayed in the next field. And you can click the Audition button to audition the notification tone.

Speech:

In the Speech Configuration page, you can configure the following speech attributes for your speech notification:

Rate: To change the rate, you can move the slider to the desired position by dragging it with the mouse or by clicking the mouse on the bar.
Volume: To change the volume, you can move the slider to the desired position by dragging it with the mouse or by clicking the mouse on the bar.
Voice: You can choose one of the three voices from the drop down list: Microsoft Mary, Microsoft Mike and Microsoft Sam.

To audition the speech attributes, just click the Audition button.

Display

Top Bar:

In this page, you can customize the following settings for your Information Bar:

AlphaBlend: Set AlphaBlend to specify that the dialog represents a layered window that allows a translucent color. The AlphaBlendValue property specifies the degree of translucency.

Note: AlphaBlend does not work on all systems. The application must be running under Windows 2000 or better, and the machine must be a P90 or better.

AlphaBlend Value: Set AlphaBlendValue to a value between 0 and 255 to indicate the degree of translucency when the AlphaBlend property is true. A value of 0 indicates a completely transparent window. A value of 255 indicates complete opacity.

Note: AlphaBlendValue only has an effect when the AlphaBlend property is true.

Text Color: Set the text color of the information bar.
Background Color: Set the backgroud color of the information bar.

System

System:

In this page you can set the Start Up functions for eReminder. Check the items you prefer, and then click the OK or Apply button to save your configuration changes.

Database Backup:

In this page you can customize how to backup database.

To prevent you from losing all your important scheduling data from a hard drive crash, please specify a safe place to hold your backup files.

In the field of Backup To, you can specify where to backup the database of eReminder, while in the field of Schedule, you can specify how often to backup.

Note: auto database backup is enabled by default.

E-Mail:

If you want to use email as anotifier for your reminder, you need to configure the properties for your email service.

You can get the email service you need by adding an email account to eReminder using the information provided to you by your administrator or Internet service provider (ISP). For example, you add an Internet email account, such as Hotmail, to handle your personal email.

Email Address - Your e-mail address (for example: username@provider.com).
Mail Server(SMTP) - the address of your SMTP server on which the account's mailbox is located. The address may be represented as a traditional URL (e.g.: mail.somedomain.com) or as a numeric IP address (e.g. 203.150.214.39).
Server Port(SMTP) - the port of your SMTp server on which the account's mailbox is located. The default server port is 25. You can get this information from your Internet service provider or LAN administrator.
User Name- the POP3/SMTP user name for access to your mailbox on the server. Usually, it is the same as the part of the account's email address before the "@" symbol. For example, if the email address is john@somedomain.com, the user's name will be john.
Password - the password for logging on to the POP3/SMTP server.
My outgoing mail server(SMTP) requires authentication - specifies that you must log on to your outgoing email server.

Test -Test your configuration of email: If you can connect to your email server, or your configuration of email is right. You can connect to your email server either by using a local area network (LAN), a dial-up networking connection by using a traditional (such as a 28.8 or 56K) modem, or your own dialing program by using a modem.
