Sync to Microsoft Project MPP file Wizard

This wizard guides you step by step through the process of synchronizing data from eReminder 2008 to Microsoft Project MPP file. The tasks or appointments in eReminder 2008, which is determined by your settings in Preferences page, will be imported to Microsoft Project file.

Before starting Sync to Microsoft Project MPP file Wizard, please access the Preferences page to configure the synchronization settings.

Start Sync to Microsoft Project MPP file Wizard

There are several methods to start this wizard:

Click Sync to Microsoft Project MPP file Wizard from the Welcome page.

Click Sync to MPP from the navigator.

Click Sync to MPP from tool bar.

Follow the wizard step by step

Step 1: Welcome page

Please read the information in this page, and make sure the correct wizard is selected. To continue, please click the Next button.

Step 2: Select eReminder Tasks/Appointments

In this step, all tasks or appointments of eReminder 2008, which are determined by your settings in the Preferences page, are listed in a table. You can select one or more tasks/appointments you want to synchronize to a Microsoft Project file by checking the most left check boxes of each entries.

To select all entries listed in the table, you can click the Select All button.

To clear all your selections, you can click the Clear All button.

Column description:

Column Name

Description

Check box Clicks to select or unselect the entry in the row.
Complete Flags whether the task/appointment has been finished.
Subject Name of the eReminder Task/Appointment, which will be shown as Task Name in Microsoft Project file when the import process is complete.
Notes Information in Body field of the eReminder task/appointment, which will be shown as Notes in Microsoft Project file when the import process is complete.
Categories If you have set a category for the task/appointment, the category name will be shown in this column. It is useful when you want to sort or filter tasks by categories. 

Best Practice:

Behind each column name ,there is two arrow buttons. The first one is used to sort the tasks ascending or descending. The second one is used to filter the tasks by contents of this column. Click the down arrow button, then select an item listed in the popup menu to display only the tasks with the same feature. For advanced filter, please click the [Custom...] item.

Select All Selects all entries in the table. This is useful when you have a large number of tasks/appointments and you want to import all or nearly all of them into a Microsoft Project file.
Clear All Unselects all entries in the table. This is useful if you have a large number of tasks/appointments listed in the table and only a few of them you want to import to a Microsoft Project file.

Flag As Selected Selects all entries which are highlighted.
Flag As Unselected Unselects all entries which are highlighted.
Select All Selects all entries in the table. This is useful when you have a large number of tasks/appointments and you want to import all or nearly all of them into a Microsoft Project file.
Clear All Unselects all entries in the table. This is useful if you have a large number of tasks/appointments listed in the table and only a few of them you want to import to a Microsoft Project file.

Best Practice:

Press the Shift key and then left-click mouse to highlight multi entries. The right-click mouse and select the Flag As Selected in the context menu to select all the highlighted entries.

Step 3: Select a MPP file to import data to

You can click the Browse button and then select a MPP file from the Open File dialog or just input the full path name of an existing MPP file you want to select.

Once the MPP file is entered, you can click the Next button to continue.

Note:

  1. If the MPP file entered does not exist, or you do not enter a MPP file, an error dialog will pop up to prompt to enter correct MPP file when you click the Next button.

Step 4: Integration result

This step is the actual action of integration. The integration process and the final result will be shown in the memo area and the log page.

Click the Complete button to finish.

Note:

If you want to use Microsoft Project MPP Integration, Microsoft Project 2000 or greater must be installed on your machine.

The task name, start date, finish date notes are the only fields imported from eReminder to Microsoft Project. Other eReminder task/appointment information, such as percent complete, are not imported.
