Import & Export

Easy Tracker QuickBooks Integration provides an easy way to import and export between Easy Tracker and QuickBooks, and it can be used in any version of QuickBooks that supports the import/export feature.

Export

To import items (Clients, Project Categories, etc) in Easy Tracker to QuickBooks, there are two major steps:

A. Export items from Easy Tracker
  1. Start Easy Tracker Pro.
  2. From the Tools menu, choose QuickBooks Integration.
  3. Switch to Time Log view.
  4. Select entries. To select multiple entries, hold down the ctrl or shift keys to select. To select all entries, use Ctrl + A. You can also use the filter of grid to select your favor entries.
  5. From the File menu, choose Export..., or click Export... in the popup menu.
  6. In the section Information to export, select the items you want to export.
  7. If you choose to export timelog, then in the section Timelog export options, you can specify to export entries not marked "billed", or just export selected entries. To prevent one entry is exported two times, it is recommended to check these box: Export entries not marked "billed", and After export, mark all exported entries as "billed"
  8. In the section Export To File, you can specify where to store the exported file, and the file name.
  9. Click OK to export selected entries to file.
B. Import to QuickBooks
  1. Start QuickBooks
  2. From the File menu, select Import, IIF Files..., then locate the file exported.
  3. Click Open to open the file, QuickBooks will import the entries inside. If importing is successful, a dialog will show: "Your data has been imported".

Import

To import items (Customers, Job Types, etc) in QuickBooks to Easy Tracker, there are two major steps:

A. Export items from QuickBooks
  1. Start QuickBooks
  2. From the File menu, select Export, Lists to IIF Files..., then check items in Export dialog.
  3. Click OK, and specify the export file in Export dialog, then click Save. QuickBooks will start to export. If exporting is successful, a dialog will show: "Your data has been exported successfully".
B. Import to Tasks/Appointments in Easy Tracker
  1. Start Easy Tracker
  2. From the popup menu of TopBar, choose QuickBooks Integration
  3. From the File menu, select Import..., then locate the file exported.
  4. Click Open to open the file, Easy Tracker will import the items inside. After import, the result will show in the log view.

Hints:

Table View integrates a lot of buttons for easy operation, click here to learn them.
Some version of QuickBooks may have trouble to import IIF file with date formation error. Please update or patch your QuickBooks to fix this error, and make sure you operate importing/exporting in OS with the same region settings.
