Time Tracker

Time Tracker provides an easy way to track your work. Before tracking, you need to select a task from Quick Tasks or All Tasks. Quick Tasks tab lists all tasks flagged as quick task (To set a task as a quick task, you can edit a task's Quick Task attribute in the Tasks view of Easy Tracker Pro). All Tasks tab lists all assignments of the current user (To add or edit the user's assignments, go to the Assignments view in the Projects category of Easy Tracker Pro). After choosing, you can start to track your work.

When you close Easy Tracker Lite, task tracking is still working. This feature is especially useful when you want to close Easy Tracker Lite, or shut down your pc but your are still doing your work. If you want to stop task tracking after close Easy Tracker Lite, please press the Stop button before close it.

Note:

If task is still being tracked when Easy Tracker Lite is closed, the tracking time entry will be divided into two entries if you start Easy Tracker Lite on the second day. In such condition, you may need adjust the duration of these two entries.

How to track a task:

To track a task, first select a task in the task list, then use one of the actions (Start Tracking, Track From Last Time Log) to start tracking. 

To pause tracking, use the action of Start an Interrupt.
To resume from an interrupt, use the action of Resume.
To stop tracking, use the action of Stop Tracking.
To track immediately after the previous activity, use Track From Last Time Log. With this action, you can get the end time of the previous time entry as the start time.
To track now, use the action of Start Tracking.

There are three methods to create a time log.

  1. Time Tracker In Time Tracker view, after you start, stop tracking a task, a time log is auto-created. Time Tracker can monitor your work time easily and accurately. It's a best way to track your work in real time.
  2. Time Log In Time Log view, you can add or edit any time entry. When forget to track work, you can add a time entry here manually. When find a time entry need a modification, you can edit the time entry here
  3. Time Sheet In Time Sheet view, you can add time entries in batches. It is especially useful when you forget to add time entries several days ago. 

Notes

Adding time entries manually is not a better way to monitor your work. In most conditions, the guess of your work hours after the event is not accurate, and do not show the actual fact.
A user should not use Easy Tracker Lite and Easy Tracker Punch Clock to track an activity at the same time. Or it may lead to some time entries overlapping each other.
Do not adjust windows system time when Easy Tracker Lite is running.

If you do not have right to use Easy Tracker Lite, please contact your Easy Tracker administrator.

Task Description Tab

When you select an assignment/a task, Task Details section in the Task Description tab will show your assignment details. When your assignment details is changed, or you have finished part of the assignment, you can edit the assignment details in this section. After the edition, always remember to use the action of Save to save your latest modification.

This tab also shows some information about the time log tracking and the task progress. To get more information, move the mouse over the attribute you are interested in, then you can get a short description of the attribute.

Summary tab

This tab has two parts. One is Measurement Items section, the other is Summary section. 

With measurement items, you can collect some data in this time log. 

With summary, you can write down some lines about your task progress, your creative ideas, etc.

Obstruction tab

When you meet some problem, or you need some help, you can write down here. That's provide a way to let your team leader or project leader known of that. Of course, you can also use it to provide a way to remember your own difficulties.

Interrupt tab

When you need a short break from your current work, you can use the action of Pause to start an interrupt. Time Tracker will pop up a dialog to record this break, and auto-switch to Interrupt tab. After the break, you can use the action of Resume to continue your work, or use the action of Stop to stop your work.

How to use this view: 

In the tool bar, you can start, pause, or stop tracking a task. In the task list, your can use the popup menu to control tracking. By double-click a task, Time Tracker will auto-start tracking the selected task.
