Personal Time
Manager is both a time schedule manager and a
time log manager wrapped in one. Its goal is to
remind you of time schedule, record time you spent, analysis time
statistically, and help you make use of time more efficiently.
It was
designed for managing time, including, but not limit to work time.
After you have input agenda, it will notify you the coming
schedule by reading its content or playing music. Most of
important, you can use Personal Time Manager to record your time
in every activity and analyze your time efficiency with graphical
tools.
There are many
tools that provide agenda management, but they cannot read the
agenda, or maybe they can alarm you by playing a sound, but not by
playing music to you. And there are applications can record your
time, however, they do not provide time agenda management. They
just record your time, and show your original time records! With
Personal Time Manager, you will be reminding by multimedia methods
and you can analysis time statistically by graphic tools.
Have you ever met
these problems: you have too many schedules, and always miss some
ones; you work harder, but still are back on schedule; you get too
many interrupts, and get lose in interrupts sometimes?
If you had detailed
time information, you could recognize and address the problem in
time to save the project. The data identified the problem and
pointed you toward the solution. Without good data on where your
time goes, your estimates will always be inaccurate and you won't
know how to improve.
Remind of your time
schedule
Proper planning
takes time, but it can save much more time than it costs. You will
end up planning anyway, but it is much better to do it in an
orderly way, and not at the coffee machine.
Keep Track of Your
Time
To manage your
personal work, you need to know where your time goes. This means
you need to track your time. This is not hard, but it does require
discipline. I suggest you get in the habit of using the time
recording log. When doing so, enter the tasks and the times when
you start and stop these tasks, and also keep track of
interruption times. If you do this, you will soon see where your
time goes. Then you can figure out what to do about it.
Manage Interruptions
Next, interruptions
are a fact of life, but there are many ways to deal with them. Use
DO NOT DISTURB signs and establish an ethic where everybody (even
the managers) respects them. Forward phone calls or even unplug or
turn off the phone. Also consider getting permission to work at
home for a day or two a week.
Another way to
manage interruptions is to get in the habit of using an
issue-tracking log. Then, when you think of something you need to
do, make a note of it in the log so you will remember to do it
later and you won't forget it when the phone rings. While you will
still have to handle these issues, you are less likely to forget
them and you can do them at a planned time.
Also, use this same
principle with interruptions. When someone calls in the middle of
a design problem, tell him or her you'll get back and then make a
note on a sticky (Advise you make you note in Interrupt Dialog) so
you don't forget.

This software comes
into the world to fulfill these three tasks, and you can use it to
improve your productivity, work quality, and overall
effectiveness. This does not mean: this software is just for
software engineer. In fact, it was designed for everyone with the
goal to improve productivity, work quality, and overall
effectiveness.
Part of the
software is built according to the principle of PSP (Personal
Software Process). PSP provides a time log manage personal work
time and interrupt time, but this software has extended the
ability of the time log, and provides more powerful functions to
manage your time.
Hope this software
can bring happiness to you!
