General questions 

Q: Don't Windows 2K/XP/Vista do this anyway?

A: Although Windows 2K/XP/Vista provide the facility to schedule your computer to hibernate, unfortunately it does not usually work because Windows 2K/XP/Vista will let just about any software application override the hibernate function; this could be your mail application checking for mails, an chat program checking for updates - just about anything. This results in the computer staying on all the time. Auto Shutdown PC provides multiple choices for you as the solution. Using the hibernation option, Auto Shutdown PC ignores all other programmes and elegantly puts the computer into hibernation. While using power off or shut down forcely option, Auto Shutdown PC powers off or shuts down the computer directly.

Q: Do I lose any work when the computer is powered down?
A: Auto Shutdown PC provides several shutdown type for your choice. To protect your data safety you may choose to hibernateyour PC. This makes a copy' of your workspace to hard disc so when you power your computer back up, all documents and applications are open and ready to use.

Q: What if I'm working?
A: If you are in the middle of something when a shutdown activity is scheduled, ten seconds by default before the scheduled shutdown, a dialog will pop up on you screen alerting you to the fact that your computer will shutdown in ten seconds and starts a countdown. Of course, you have a choice to abort the scheduled power down. Just click the Abort button, you can cancel this scheduled power down completely. If you abort the scheduled shutdown event, the system will pick up the next shutdown activity from the schedule list. By the way, the default count down time can change to any time you wish, for example, 60 seconds.

Q: Does it work with Windows Vista?
A: Yes.

Q: Does it work when I do not log on?
A: Yes.

Q:What if the computer is idle after finishing heavy backup task?
A:
You can create a shutdown task, schedule to run before start the heavy backup task, and check the options Start the task when CPU is idle(This option is intended for shutting down the computer after finishing a CPU-intensive task like database backup or video convertion.). It then will perform the shut down when the CPU usage is equal or below than the selected percentage during the indicated amount of time.

Q:What if the computer is under attack after duty?
A: You can create a shutdown task, schedule to run after duty, and check the options Start the task when CPU is busy(This option is intended for shutting down the computer when finding the computer is attacked or is busy with some abnormal tasks.). It then will perform the shut down when the CPU usage is equal or above than the selected percentage during the indicated amount of time.

Q:How to uninstall Auto Shutdown PC in Windows Vista/Server 2008?
A: To uninstall Auto Shutdown PC,
1, Right-click the Auto Shutdown PC tray icon, and select Exit to stop Auto Shutdow n PC program,
2, click start, All Programs, Auto Shutdown PC,
3, right-click Uninstall, and select Run as administrator/Run.
4, process the uninstallation according to the guide.

Q:Why the computer does not shutdown/log off/power off/reboot when specify to do it safely?
A: Making computer do something safely may fail to do the activity, dued to some application do not allow to close, while making computer do something by force will force computer to do the activity, which may lose data not saved.
To make computer do something successfully, you can choose to do it forcely.

Q. How to deploy the same shutdown schedule in batch?
A. To deploy the same shutdown schedule in batch:
1, Start Auto Shutdown PC.
2, Create shutdown events according to your business.
3, Publish the config file to other PCs. The config file locates in the installation path, C:\Program Files\eTimeInc\Auto Shutdown PC\Config by default.
4, Replace the old config.ini with the new config.ini in other PCs.

How to remove Auto Shutdown PC manually?
A. to remove Auto Shutdown PC:
1
Right-click the Auto Shutdown PC tray icon located in Task Bar, and select Exit to stop Auto Shutdown PC program.
2, press Ctrl + Alt + Del to start Task Manager , switch to the Processes tab, and select AutoShutdownPCServiceApplication.exe, press the End Process button to stop it.
3, find the folder where you have installed Auto Shutdown PC , which is C:\Program Files\eTimeInc\Auto Shutdown PC by default.
4, double-click the batch file Uninstall.bat to remove all files.
5, delete all files by force.
